Noise Wall Panels
On the U.S. 79 (SR‑76) corridor through Carroll and Gibson Counties, the Tennessee Department of Transportation initiated Contract CNV282, involving grading, drainage, a concrete‐box bridge, noise (sound) wall construction and paving.
Description
Our team fabricated and installed high-performance precast sound wall panels tailored for a major highway expansion project stretching from west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County.
The panels were designed to deliver long-term acoustic mitigation, structural durability, and simplified on-site installation—helping to maintain project momentum and reduce traffic disruption.
Key Features & Outcomes
Engineered to withstand regional weather and highway exposure, ensuring minimal maintenance over decades.
Optimised for rapid install during active construction: prefabricated off-site, delivered ready to set.
Provided acoustic benefits for adjacent communities, aligning with DOT sound-wall requirements along the U.S. 79 route.
Integrated with the overall project schedule for the concrete box bridge and paving works, offering a the cohesive infrastructure solution.
I-440 Reconstruction — Nashville, TN
A landmark corridor upgrade for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) on the 7.6-mile stretch of I-440 between I-40 and I-24 in Davidson County.
Description
This project involved a full-scale reconstruction and widening of I-440 — originally designed in the 1980s and experiencing over 100,000 vehicles per day. The upgrade added a third travel lane in each direction, replaced deteriorated concrete pavement, upgraded bridges, improved interchanges, installed new noise walls, improved lighting and ITS systems.
Key Features & Outcomes
Widened the corridor from two lanes each direction to three lanes each direction, greatly increasing capacity.
Replaced existing 10-inch jointed plain concrete pavement with new structural sections using rubblization and asphalt overlay techniques to reduce cost, time and environmental impact.
Maintained live traffic during construction — a major logistical challenge in an urban setting with heavy volumes.
Completed ahead of schedule, delivering enhanced capacity, improved safety and smoother travel for commuters in Nashville.
Why It Matters
The I-440 project is a strong demonstration of large-scale infrastructure execution: managing complexity, traffic, urban constraints, and modern delivery methods (design-build). Featuring this on your site shows that your company works on major, technically challenging projects (and can align with large DOTs and contractors).
